Scenery and
natural attractions

We are located a stone’s throw from McGillycuddy’s Reeks and Carrauntoohill – Ireland’s highest peak at 1039m.

  • Rossbeigh Beach – a lovely long sandy beach,  horse trekking, long walks and water sports. Rossbeigh is located about 2 miles from the village of Glenbeigh.
  • The Skellig Islands – two uninhabited, rocky islets some 12 km off the coast. Skellig Michael is designated a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its well-preserved Christian monastery and recently found fame when it was featured in the new Star Wars films. 
  • The Kerry International Dark-Sky Reserve – this has been designated Ireland’s FIRST International Dark Sky Reserve by the International Dark-Sky Association. Glencar is located in the only Gold Tier Dark Sky area in the Northern Hemisphere.
